2024 Mas: SALT event at Halycon Bike
April 6, 2024 at the new Halycon Bike location on Hagan St in Wedgewood-Houston’s arts zone. In collaboration with ArtsEquity Nashville, this fundraiser aims to address the financial difficulties caused by incomplete MetroArts funding. including grants rescinded and unfulfilled. Where local government has faltered in its support of our creative culture, the arts community here aims to help each other.
Micro-grants awarded here will be no strings attached. All we have is each other.
The MAS: SALT fund
Created to promote well-being and art through the matching of GENEROSITY and NEED. Started during the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond, We are soliciting monetary and artistic donations from anyone generous enough to give (any amount) AND applications from anyone in need.
Recipients will be encouraged to contribute work to a collective group art show . Work sold at the show will financially contribute to growing the MAS SALT Fund for our next set of needs as a community.
Financial donations will allow the fund to grow as our abilities and needs grow. Many gracious and deep thanks to the anonymous donors and Dr. Lauren Brown and Sara Lederach who made it possible to get this fund off the ground and to past hosts Red Arrow Gallery and Buchanan Arts.
Being the change also requires asking for change from those able to give. Thank you so much to the many anonymous generous donors, and those receiving and using the funds to create original art that continues the cycle.

2021 MAS: SALT event at Buchanan Arts
The selection panel for the financial grants consisted of board members of Number Inc Magazine : Marlos E’van, Nuveen Barwari, and Michael Mitchell.
Applications for financial aid opened on Sept 15th and closed on Oct 13th. Early applications receive preference to help the selection panel’s volunteered time.
